about junior tennis

Junior tennis is a very important part of our club and is open to boys and girls aged between 8 - 18 years old. New players are always welcome!

Players need to have been coached or attend our junior squad programs to play competition. We recommend that coaching is continued once you start competitive tennis. We currently have junior boys and girls in the following competitions:-

• NEJTA - Saturday junior morning competition

• NENTG - Tuesday night mens/Wednesday night ladies

• HDTA - Saturday - afternoon competition

• Victoria Tennis Association - Pennant

• Club Championships / Parents Events

Each year we organise a social night for the juniors. Players, parents and siblings are encouraged to attend to share pizzas and drinks and enjoy the evening's activities whether it's bowling, roller blading, games night, trivia or something else.

We hold Club Championships in during the year and do encourage all juniors to enter. There are singles, doubles and mixed doubles events as well as parents events.

Juniors play competition in the North Eastern Junior Tennis Association (NEJTA). We have two seasons per year Autumn (Feb-Jun) and Spring (Jul-Dec). Competition is played on a Saturday morning, Singles/Doubles from 7:45 and Doubles from 8:45 and finishing some time between 12:00 and 1:00pm. (Times vary when Stage 3 Water Restrictions are in place.) A season runs for 14 weeks with seven home matches and seven away match. Away matches are within the northern district. Competition is run in conjunction with school terms.
